I haven't seen it written anywhere. I can tell you with my own it was quite a difference interior vs exterior, but with drawers especially.

widths- I had a 15" wide cab with a drawer - and I couldn't fit a 12" wide recycling organizer (not ikea) into it. but the ikea cutlery organizer 12" fits like a glove in a 15" wide drawer, so figure 1.5' less on each side for a drawer interior.

Height - My lower 10" drawer had an 8" vertical clearance, my middle 10" drawer had a 9" vertical clearance. My 5" interior drawers seem to have a 3.5" vertical clearance. But 5" external drawer has 4". So anywhere between 1-2" vertical loss on a lower drawer.

Don't know if any of that helps, but I encourage you to plan on the conservative side.

Thank you! At least I am not just dopey that I can't find it! The exact dimension I am looking for is the cabinet height below the drawer(s) in the base cabinets that have one or two drawers on top. I am trying to figure out if I can fit two rows of laundry baskets (above and below a center shelf). I am pretty certain I can fit them under the base cab with on drawer but I don't know about the one with two...

I don't have any of those, sorry! Went with all drawers. My sink cab with only one upper drawer(front) fits a 20" high waste bin, if that helps?

That does help...is there space left above the bin? Could you be so kind as to measure from the cabinet bottom to the underside of the drawer?

I don't have sektion installed yet, but if you have a 5" drawer front with doors below on a 30" tall base cabinet (without toe kick), that would leave 25" exterior dimension. Subtract 3/4" for the bottom leaves 24.25" interior dimension. If you have a 3/4" thick center shelf, (24.25-.75)/2 = 11.75" per shelf space for your laundry baskets. Similarly, if you have a 10" drawer front on the cabinet, (30-10-.75-7.5)/2= 9.25" per shelf space.

Width wise it would be different because of the hinge hardware and the drawer hardware for drawer interior dimensions, but I can't think of why these calculations would be off for heights, since the drawer front heights are an exterior dimension. I hope that helps.

No drawer - just a sink that hasn't been installed yet, and a false front....I can tell you that the empty interir cabinet is 29" high. And each shelf is 3/4" thick.

Like mathteachr said, I would subtract the drawer fronts you are planning on (two 5"?) from the 29", make sure to factor in the shelf width, and that should be safe. If you could get baskets that are 11" tall or less, that would be ideal. Just measured mine and it's 10" high, so you might be good to go! Agree that the door hinges are bulky (but worth it for soft close) so give yourself a little sideways wriggle room.

I believe drawer heights now come in 5" increments, so the single drawer front is probably 10".

Yes the drawer heights are in 5" increments. 5" 10" and 15" plus you can get pull out hardware to make a door or any combinations of certain doors and drawer fronts to make a pull out of any size you want that will fit the cabinet box dimensions. The boxes come in 40" 30" and 15" heights with a choice of 15" or 24" depths on many. It's all modular.

Is there need for 15 inch drawers or will 10 hold most. Choices seems 3 different sizes or two 10, 2 five.
