I have 5 but no doubles - 3 reds, 1 I'm not sure yet it hasn't flowered and the last has a pink trimming on the edge of the petals ;)

Stunning displays!

I notice red lava rocks on top of the soil. What are the white rocks? I thought placing a layer of rocks would interfere with gas escaping from the soil. So lava rocks are porous enough to allow for aeration? I had been thinking of placing a decorative layer of some kind but was concerned they would keep in too much moisture. What would you recommend?

I have never tried rocks or gravel with the DR's. I have seen others use gravel with plumeria, but due to the severe heat we get in Texas during the summer, the rocks will burn the plumeria trunks.

Kadie, I bought white rock first, before knowing about lava rocks. Now they got mix up. Those are there for display only. They get so hot during summer months. If not rocks the soil got spill if I use hose to water the plant.

Lonnie, I was wonder about it too, but it is easier to get the big rocks out before they ready for inside. I did touch and it was very hot.
