From Walmart? Probably a cross. Not sure with what though. Wait until ripe and taste it.

Yes from my local walmart in Summerville SC they sell plants in lawn in garden durring the season and Im deffinatly saving the seeds and going to try to dig the plant and bring it in for the winter

Yeah those look mutant, cross and looks like a cross with a ghost and Trinidad variety, what ever it is it does look like they will be hot. If they don't disappoint in heat and flavor, keep seed and see if it stables out in the next few years.

Nice collection of peppers, any reason you did not let them all go ripe? They would have been much hotter peppers, and tasted better.

They were getting small holes in them

Your seeds probably will not be viable in the green stage. The pods have not had a chance to ripen.

My local walmart has Bonnies Peppers. Not sure if they all do. But they could be mislabeled as much as a cross. Definitely interesting and i wouldn't have an idea of what they could be if they are simply mislabeled. At least they didn't turn out to be bell peppers.

That's one of the reasons I dont buy from big box. Too many people play with the labels. If you can grow it yourself, good for you.

Mutants are what makes chili growing fun. You never know what your getting.

I have some of those habs from Bonnie. Mine look just like those,however,as they grow I'm seeing multi shapes in the same plant.

Yup, I picked up on that earlier thread too. I'm not as fond of these Bonnie 'mutant' Habaneros. They do not have the distinct sharp yet deep smokey smell of my traditional ones last year, all of which also had the normal shape. These (in MI) are not as hot as last years either. Disappointing, but I am about to make a few different hot sauces with them... one basic, one with mango and one with cilantro. I'm sure I will forget their stupid shapes as I enjoy the sauces.

Hey... I planted seeds labeled Green Zebra and one plant has dark red and green roma style tomatoes, and the other plant has green zebra size but it is dark red and dark green as well. Both plants the tomatoes are not ripening on the top but the bottom is. Strange!! The rest of the seed will be tossed!

Cat.. possibly you meant to post this in the Tomato forum instead of here.. the pepper forum? But I will tell you that my Big Boys did a similar thing. Search Yellow Shoulder Tomato to see if it's what you are experiencing. It has been more common this year and I had never heard of it! It's complex though. Extreme heat, inconsistent watering and inadequate fertilizer are the main causes. I grow in containers on a deck so I think all three were an issue. After adding solid fertilizer and watering early in the day mine have begun to ripen normally.

Those habs are still producing like crazy. Now i am excited that my trinidad scorpion's are starting to produce fruit since i planted them late but i will at least get a couple of peppers out of them here are some pics i just took with my watch dog in the one that is in a pot

hey guys i actually bought a couple haro's and a couple cayannes from walmart ..lol ya i know but i couldnt get them from seed rack in time to get my 100 days in the ground . both did well but mine look just like the mutant ones above . Mine also r taking forever to ripen and the one that did was rotten ? Any ideas .. pics to come!!

It is November 6th and in central Oklahoma my first attempt at Habenero Peppers is an experiment gone wild. My "bush" is loaded and they are huge. My Peppers look just like yours and I purchased mine at Walmart. I was wondering if they were mislabeled. When will they ripen and what will I do with them??
