Tia, I don't know where you are, but it has been raining here in Zone 5 - PA almost daily or at least every other day for the past 3 - 4 weeks. I normally wait until the 2nd or 3rd week of June to harvest, but last week it seemed some of my garlic was ready (had 3-4 brown lower leaves). As the sun had been shining for 2 consecutive days, I dug up the 8 heads of garlic I thought were ready. Unfortunately, these heads had already rotted. As none of the other plants had any brown leaves, I decided to chance it and waited until today and dug up another 3 specimens, even though these plants only had 1 brown leaf each. I am glad I didn't wait any longer as the bulbs were large enough to harvest and already showing signs of being waterlogged. Even though none of the other plants had any brown leaves, I harvested all the garlic today. It is supposed to rain again today and the next 5 days. Good luck!

I knew it was going to storm, so I dug the last of my garlic as it was getting dark yesterday. They are up on a wire rack in an open shed, and the whole yard smells like garlic. It looks like a good crop.
