what size cut are the tiles and what did you use for the size of the grout?

tiles are 4" x 16" and I used platinum gray as the grout color

Hello, I love this look, but I looked up the tiles on Ann Sacks website and they don't show a 4 X 16, they show 2 X 8 or 8 X 16. Help?

The 8 x 16 can easily be cut in the field to 4 x 16. Your contractor will just want to follow the standard recommendations for cutting and installing natural stone. Could you tell me more about light fixture?

I don't know where it came from. My homeowner provided it. I'm sorry! It seems to me that back in some earlier discussion, someone else asked the same question and the owner answered with where it came from. you might try looking through earlier questions and comments.

As to the chandelier, the pattern is very characteristic of Oly Studio lighting. I went on their website, and they don't have this exact one (most likely an older design) but they do have some similar styles, just not quite as grand. what is the stain on the stair rail and what is the type of wood

It's red oak. I don't remember the color, but my painter just mixed dark stains until my homeowner liked the color.

We used a 'coffee' color stain to mimic this pic and also bought the same tile from dal-tile (as they had the exact size instead of having to do more cuts)

Tcovitz1 - what tile did you get from Daltile??

We got the vein cut grey limestone - we used Ann Saks for our kitchen backsplash but found the exact same limestone at Daltile - you could not tell a difference in the samples. Here is the pic w the wood stain (ignore the rug) we have three kids under 2 so lots of dirt tracks in the Front door.

We took it all the way in the foyer under the stairwell / restarting the wood in the living area

Wow! That looks absolutely stunning. I have three small children too. Is it difficult to upkeep? And what size tiles are these? The only size I saw from Daltile was 4" x 12". The other sizes would need to be cut. Did you cut them or have a stone fabricator cut them?

it's very durable and i believe we used the 4x12 pieces and the tile guy cut as needed - be careful to not get stain on the tiles - it will soak into the stone. Our builder was useless and failed to manage the subs, so we had to have several pieces replaced due to issues with chips and stains due to timing of other work in the house. We have had no issues since we replaced the issue and lived even w 3 kids - if you take care of it you should be fine (and its not hard) We used grey grout and only clean with products without ammonia as it would remove the sealant.

I was inspired by this floor by Ellen Grasso & Sons (THANK YOU!) and we did something similar, we used 12 X 12 travertine and cut them into 5 X 12 sizes to make a herringbone entry floor. we butted it up next to wood floors. We live in a wintry climate and therefore it is functional and much more pleasing than the same old rectangular tiles people have been putting in for years and years. The tile guy cut the tiles down to the sizes we chose. There was an upcharge for that, but it made it easier to find the right colors rather that looking for the right size. The tile guy did tell us to get something WITHOUT a chamfered edge (I believe that means slight bevel) It is a big improvement from the Mexican octagonal tiles that were previously there.

Here is one more pic that you can see the grout color and tile size... We loved it so much we used in our master bath as well ....we also found an hexagon pattern made out of the exact same limestone - we used in the shower and toilet room floors. Found at Arizona tile.
