Each fall after the last bush green beans, triple sweet sweetcorn ears, and tomatoes have been harvested, I till alfalfa pellets into the soil to relplace depleted nutrients (primarily nitrogen) and let them permeate throughout the soil over the winter. I then rotate the crops every other spring. But this year, due to late developing broccoli, I may have to plant my second crop of sweetcorn in the same plot I had intended to use for corn next year. Think I could get away with that just this one time?
