I also have a 100 YO craftsman home. I'm not so lucky to have those panels tho.
Historically, these homes were painted rich, saturated colors. That being said...here's another option...

You might go with a light olive or grayish green as it will enhance the look of the wood.

I am going for Mid-century Modern style for my 100 years old craftsman. Was thinking about wallpaper, but my wall is textured, it needs some sanding job and It's nearly impossible with a new born at home:-( Green was the first color group I was thinking! Thank you all!
