That second one has a nightshade look to it, to me, but I am not an expert. If you don't get definite answers here, post this on the Name That Plant forum, because that's where the experts hang out.

Either or both look like Physalis to me.

All of the plants we call "weeds" are also wild flowers. What determines if a plant is a "weed" is if it is a plant you do not want growing where you do not want it growing it is a "weed". "Weeds" are simply unloved plants.

That second picture does not look like nightshade to me.

The indefinite article was important there - 'A' nightshade. i.e. a member of the Solanaceae. Both plants are in that family.

Thanks for the responses. I get that what's considered a "weed" is subjective. If these are going to flower, I'll be happy. If they're not, I want to remove them to make room for the ones that will.
