You can start to feed them a balanced fertilizer at a slow rate now to encourage more growth.

They'll probably put out a fruit soon for the main crop this year but I would pluck them off to encourage growth :/

By the end of the season you could even upgrade to a bigger pot

Already using miracle gro garden soil with 3 months feeding in it. Also added osmocote which feeds upto 4 months. As for the 1st fig plant I was told that the main tree came from Italy which was brought to them by their great grandfather when they move to New York City for the first time

I'm jumping for joy because I think I just noticed my first 2 figs on my hardy chicago.

So far it seems that the cutting had root nods coming out. Small amount.. but I will take pictures of it. But here is the current state of the fig plant :D
