Diagnose yellowing phalaenopsis leaves

last modified: 11 years ago

Hi,

Wondering if someone can help me out. It seems that thus particular phalaenopsis plant of mine has been dropping leaves a little quickly. The bottom ones on one half of the plant slowly turn yellow and fall off. It seems faster than usual. It has four leaves, top one two are perfect, middle one is starting to show some yellow, and botton one is very yellow and dying.

My plant is in a clear pot so I can see the roots and it isn't over watered and it's not sunburn either so I'm not sure what's wrong. This is the third leaf that has gotten sick in like the past month or two I believe. It has been flowering since just before Christmas, so about 6 mos now and still has about two flowers left on each spike..

I live in Hawaii, zone 11 or 12. My plants live outside until they grow spikes, at which point I bring them indoors. This plant gets indirect sun from skylights and west facing window.

Thank you for any advice!
