Room transitioning

We have engineered hardwood floors in our entry way, family room, breakfast room, and kitchen (we have a separate dining room). We had water damage in the laundry room & kitchen. Fortunately the breakfast room was spared. We cannot replace the wood in the kitchen as it is discontinued and we don't want to replace all the wood floors as it is still in good shape & beautiful. We decided to go with tile & do the laundry room & kitchen. We're using 20-inch sq. tile on a diagonal. Dilemma-should we do the breakfast room? We hate to pull up perfectly good wood. You can see in the pictures how the 3 rooms flow & the blue tape is where we would split the kitchen & breakfast room. The last picture has a tile sample. I am not opposed to putting a decorative strip of tile between the tile & wood. I would like affirmation that we can just tile the kitchen & not the breakfast room too. Thanks!
