I generally water on Sunday sand the pots are dry by then. But that was when we weren't having flash floods in San Antonio. Now I haven't had the need. I do dump them after the rain if they are full. Think I should move them somewhere that doesn't get too much rain?

I'm in Iowa and we're getting more rain this summer than usual too. I think it is hard on our tuberous begonias. I even got spray this year and was careful to pick off dead infected leaves as quickly as possible. The new tubers I bought this year are doing much better than the tubers I over-wintered in the house in peat. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference next year.

pinkpearls, its been a few months and I am wondering how your begonias fared this summer. Some of mine are ok, but none are as good as they could be. I am going to make some changes but am curious to know if others struggled with them this year too. If so I can have more hope for next year. Also, if a plant died from mildew, will the tuber still be good for next year?

I went ahead and let them go. I think if I try again, itd be for a fall plant. Too hot tobaby them and too hot to care.
