how about a nice light gray and white glass tile backsplash ?

What other colors do you like and have in the rest of the home? I would do tile that has both the gray and the cream but add just a little bit of red if you like it. Then maybe you can add one or 2 red accessories.

Thanks both for your advise, tris is what I Was thinking so I am
Happy you suggest it to. The dining room is just beside the kitchen, the ychairs are chocolate, the table is glass and the base is also chocolate with marble. I Was thinking in a white papper wall for the living and diner room. Going back to the original quiestion, what do you think would be better for the meadle Of the kichen, to put the gray-white glass in all the wall or only on the slove área?

You are welcome. I would cover as much of the middle area as you can. Here are two pictures of examples. Could you post a picture of your dining room as well?

I think you need more color in the middle area---or at least get some colorful accents on those counters with some fun appliances or utensil holder.

Create some whimsy with the back splash and your upper cabinet fixtures. Use some black or gray hardware. It breaks up the white. I have an all white kitchen as well and I have used black and white polka dots

Black, gray, white and chocolate? Stick some color in there my friend. Unless this is a house you plan on selling soon so need to keep everything boring neutral. What's your favorite color? Red? Green? Blue? Yellow? At least put a linear line somewhere in the backsplash. It will look super and add pop. I'm just a do it yourselfer, not a pro.

    Hi Priscillanos,

I agree with Diane Land's last backsplash recommendation. The matchstick tiles in a warmer color option. Take a look at this kitchen, they have dark and light counters, but they are balanced with the warmer, earthy backsplash.

Same thing with this backsplash, but it is brightened up with undermount lighting.

Try to choose a backsplash color that enhances your cabinets and counter. Don't choose a color that blends into the background.

I would go with a backsplash that's a little more classic, if it were me. I'm afraid that mosaic glass tiles, especially the horizontal variety, are on the way out. A marble in a hex pattern is different but more enduring.

If you like small tiles, I might consider instead a pearl/shell mosaic. It will give a lot of interest, yet be tone on tone. You could bring in color either through accessories or on the walls (something pale).

Add a little bright blue or turquoise to brighten things up. Maybe lime green if you like it. It's too stark-looking for me.

Here's something a little more subtle than black and white. Note the different sizes of small squares and rectangles and the hint of a golden orange colour, softened by lines sketched through the tiles. I used a grout that picks up the counter colour.

I should have clarified that this is made up of black glass tiles and light and dark grey glass tiles, with only an occasional streak of the light orange colour.

Thanks for all the comments and recomendations. Something is happening with the aplication that I cannot access to the fhoto galery and I cannot attach the picture Of the dinner room, i like all the options you hace suggest, thanks, thanks, thanks

Here's an idea. But in grey glass. Then use either warm or cool white as your under cabinet lighting. See my photos underneath. hope it helps.

Go with the warm natural stone.
    Or stainless steel.

Since you already have contrasting upper and lower cabinetry, I would choose a simple patterned backsplash tile with minimal color variation, so as to not make the kitchen appear too busy.

With all the glossy materials you already have going on (countertop and cabinetry), consider choosing a backsplash with a honed or non glossy finish for contrast.

I would recommend either one of our black or white barn lights over your island

I prefer the 3rd backsplash option in Diane's first post, full backsplash above cupboards n stove area. It adds some quiet warmth with the browns that will tie in with your other rooms. The other options look too cold w/black and pop a little too much contrast with the rest of the kitchen. It seems to me you like a more muted, easy on the eyes neutral as do I. IF you want to add colors do that with accessories...

Personally, stick with neutral tones on the backsplash (maybe mother of pearl tiles that will reflect the light and will help balance the other colors in the room) Since you have dark gray lower cabinets and gray floors, pull everything together with splashes of color on the counter accessories and wall color - I think a light yellow or maybe a pretty blue-green, especially if the kitchen is open up to the dining area and your stated that you had a lot chocolate brown in there. This would be an accent color you could carry into that room as well. Always best to stick to neutrals for your major components and dress with color around it, less costly when you want to change it out! Find a fabric that speaks to you with coordinating colors that you can use for window treatments, table runners or placements and let it guide you.

Go brushed nickel on that back splash! You can purchase the self-stick brushed nickel tiles in a variety of sizes and finishes. It'll look grrrreat and simple, clean. Your kitchen has clean lines……..so stick to that look with simple tiling.

I love glass subway tile in a herringbone pattern! White or grey would be clean & modern, but color would be fun!
I think you need texture, not color. Liked the mother of pearl suggestion. A combo clear/white glass tile and white stone or marble mosaic would be cool. Or just a full sheet of (back painted) glass would be very clean and modern. It looks like a rather small space and it will look more expansive with a white backsplash than with darker colors.

Also forgot to mention... it appears the only natural light in the kitchen comes from an adjacent room. Sticking with lighter colored and/or reflective tiles will keep it from looking drearily dark!
