I wouldn't wait to see if your cats accept her before taking her to the vet since (1) her illness will probably cause them to keep their distance or reject her all together and (2) the longer you wait the worse her illness will become, and the higher the vet bill. Plus, if she's in an early stage of pregnancy the vet may be able to go ahead and spay her.
Since she's such a nice kitty maybe you'll be able to rehome her.

Thanks - we are taking her tomorrow. As far as finding a home for cats/kittens around here - doesn't happen.

And of course, see if she's chipped. (My indoor cats were chipped - in case!)

We took her to the vet yesterday. He says she gave birth recently and is under a year old. So - we left her there to be spayed and given antibiotics for her eye and cough. Otherwise, he says she looks healthy and well-fed. No ear mites - don't think she was alone for long but no sign of kittens.

ryseryse, what a great person u are to do all that for the kitty... its so good to hear that people really do care. i agree that people are the problem., just so lazy, uneducated and indifferent to animals....
we found our cat, took him home, took to vet to be checked out/neutered and have had him every since, 10 yrs ago. he is just awesome and we love him to death. i think he knew he was in trouble and that we rescued him from certain death and has be grateful ever since. i do believe they have that sense of "rescuing".
we just lost our 13 yr old dog yesterday and its been so difficult. she was our "crazy" dog and drove us nuts, but we loved her so much. now we just laugh as we recall all the crazy things she did!! we just have our cat now and the house is unbearably quiet. this is the first time in 27 years we have not had a dog, so strange, sad and depressing. our Tori, we love u baby girl!!!! this was taken about a month ago, who would have thought that today she would not be here??? not me. she declined so rapidly. i always thought this dog would live to 17 or so. never anything wrong with her, no surgeries (except spay), no meds, nothing, just running, playing, eating, sleeping, being close to someone and trying to get them to throw the tennis ball......we will miss u tor tor......see you at the rainbow bridge....

She sounds like she was a real winner - we have a 'crazy dog' too. So annoying sometimes but we just love her to death. Give yourselves about 18 months and then go to a shelter. You will never replace her and maybe you don't really want another 'crazy dog' but another companion will be waiting.

thanks ryseryse_2004, when we were going through all the stress of her illness, i said, "i can't do this anymore". this is our 3rd dog and each one took a piece of my heart with them, all for different reasons.

we are "dog" people and i know another will be in our future at some point. my DH is so sad, they were best buds and i know he will want another one eventually. when the time is right, we will know and some dog in need will make its way to us. yes, we will go to a rescue site, because really where else would you go, some many dogs/cats in need of homes, i could never go to a breeder. all our dogs came from some sort of rescue, they are the most needy and i would want to help those animals and all the foster parents and the people who dedicate their lives to rescuing animals close to euthanasia because of overcrowding.

no, i think tori was one of kind, lol!!!! its funny with 3 dogs, all of them were so different, i think that a good thing. all three were female, but all different size, shape, color and most importantly, personality. i miss all of them. each Christmas, we put their ornament with their name on it and hang it on the tree, we always remember them.
