Rug type/color

Hello all! I need advice on a rug color and style for my living room area, was thinking something in shag with a solid color. Sofa is a charcoal grey color and floors are cherry. Wall color is off white at present but planning on changing depending on rug/style. Window treatments are light grey. Room gets mild-moderate sunlight depending on if blinds are open or closed. Looking also for a new coffee table and end table so try to ignore the current coffee table in the pic. Size would be 8x10. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I thinketh you should changeth the blinds color. Toooooooo much gray against the gray of the couches is making everything look too dark.

* A Round-shaped or Octagonal-shaped coffee table is the best for this tight space. Try West Elm for some fabulous coffee table and area rug ideas. Love the brassy type look with these gray tones to warm-up everything. *

*Do place a sophisticated floor lamp in the corner where you have the torchere lamp now. Try something with a Drum shade in either a natural linen, burlap, or creamy white.

*Accessorize the couches with some light-patterned pillows and you could drape a throw on the chaise's outer arm.

*Change the ceiling fan for a sophisticated hanging up-to-the minute lighting fixture and bring some drama and light to the entire room.
