i love the drapes and the rug, the couches are a good color too but you'll need some pillows to liven things up. lots of colors go with grey... blue..red...yellow... pick one and substitute a couple of them in. i like your painting and you should keep it unless you want that spot to further your design aim. we dont have to be smacked over the head with a boat, but.... seaglass colors can help you.

I think a pattern would be fine on your pillows, maybe a smaller pattern or a floral. You have a stripe, you have a geometric, you can have another! Plus, the sofas are a lot of solid color, so you need to break that up a bit. I think orange/coral would be a great accent/pop of color in this room. Put some stuff in your coffee table basket, add a stack of books or magazines, and you'll be set!

just not an awning stripe (as you have that in the drapes) or a 2 color trellis, as you have that in the rug. "you'll know it when you see it" is how i always feel about pillows. go to a homegoods or marshalls if you can, always something interesting. i ended up with a colorful bird print, not something i ever would have searched for online.

The drapes are hung too low and they're too short. Drapes should touch the ground and be hung at least 12 inches higher than yours.

but can't that be broken? I would like to see them dropped especially cause she has them already, and because of the similar heights already in room... what's visible in next area though??

Lovely room. I hate to do it, but I agree with the comment about the drapes. I know how frustrating that is, because I can't find long enough drapes locally. You might try IKEA because they have very affordable curtains in longer sizes. I hope you can find the same drapes in a longer length, because those are great.

I also love the picture over the couch but I am not sure it is big enough for the space. I would suggest something a bit more rectangular, and then hung lower (about 5 inches above the back of couch).

Have fun finding pillows. With your current wonderful color scheme you have several fun options that would still feel beachy (say, yellow, red or blue)

Question: why do they sell so many 84" curtains.... they can't look THat bad, can they? I've bought them....

96 inch drapes are available special order from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Also online from Country Curtains, World Market and Pier One.

I also once found exactly what I was looking for drape wise, buy buying tablecloths at Target. Just folded over slightly and used rings to hang.

If you're keeping your pillows and getting more full curtains, ok I just hate to see waste, this for the color/pattern?

Drapes come in many lengths not just 84". You wouldn't buy a twin comforter for a king sized bed. You could go up to the next length 95" or the next 108". These sizes are available on line from many suppliers Ballard Design or J C Penney or Sears.

I really like most of what you've done (except curtains) :')

Try moving the sofa facing the TV back about 12 inches and centering the rug with the loveseat. Put more rug under the sofa so centering with loveseat is possible. That way your sofas won't overlap each other.

I'm gonna suggest lowering the picture over the loveseat. Drop it down about 6 or 8 inches--that way it becomes part of the furniture arrangement not just a picture floating up on the wall.

Looks good except that pic above sofa. To high and too small. Put a big 45 sunburst mirror, hang 6" from top if sofa. Silver would work.

Your panels are too short, Always go to floor. Get new ones love color block like u have.

If going beach look add items to bookcase in a beach look. A big bowl fill with sand and sea shells. Michael's sells. Ck TJMax for accessories they have many. Go silver and reflective look. Use coral, star fish. Keep it uncluttered just 2 items per shelve.

Fill that basket on coffee with big sea shells. Add Aqua pillows to sofa. Lighten it up.

I obviously can't see the whole space, but I'm thinking you'd get more bang with the bookcase to the left of the loveseat. The corner where it's at is looking heavy and It will give a focal point on the other wall.

Some bold contrasting pillows, if large scale print, would look great. If you like floral, that would be nice, orange or bright green would contrast nicely in solids, esp if you added maybe some color in wall art or simple accessories like a vase or candlesticks? I agree with a darker wood ceiling fan, or something like the Valle Paraiso from Home Depot, in chrome. Looks very nautical, I have it in my family room with similar colors and I love it.
