I quite like it as it is. The large dark sleigh bed is making it feel small, it is too out of scale for the room, like a big black hole in the middle of the room. The height of it is also making the ceilings look low. If you choose something lower and white the room will look larger and much more modern. Also the area rug is undersized, I suggest something bigger in a lighter colour pallet to help achieve the modern-largeness you are going for. Alternatively a bedframe with openings will make the room feel more airy paired with a small rug (again in a lighter colour pallet) will make the room feel bigger.

I agree, I think you have a pretty nice setup. Maybe a lower platform bed might open up the room more?

I agree the bed is taking too much visual space. How about a platform bed in a transitional style? This tufted one can relate to your furniture but add a contemporary twist.
