Need help! New kitchen plan ..???

It's a U shaped kitchen with the end wall 15', one side wall also 15', and the other is 10'. Both 15' walls will have windows, placement can vary. But the end wall window will need to be centered. We would like to have a island with vegetable sink. Appliances hopefully will be a 36" induction cook top, 4' frig, 30" built-in oven w/micro. 24" dishwasher.

It would really help if you posted a plan and pictures. You'll probably get more responses, too :)

Yes, please post a floor plan of the entire floor the kitchen is on (not just the kitchen -- we need to see everything around it too for context/traffic considerations). Please post that on graph paper were 1 square = 1 sq. ft. Then you will get lots of great help.

Hi sally. I can't begin to help you with a layout, but I can tell you people will need a drawn layout of the space. There's no way anyone can help you with this little bit of info. Try starting here first. :)

Here is my plan. I hope to have a 5 ' window at the end and at the front. Thanks!

Sally- Is this your current plan or what you want it to be? If you have larger windows, can you have the cooktop under a window? (Zoning question)

This is new construction. The foot print will stay the same. The wall next to the pantry can be moved, (make the pantry smaller.) I have a nice view out of the end of the house and front. I just don't like the design the architect has in the rendering. Not sure about the codes (cook-top)?

You're going to have trouble getting a full U plus an island in 15 feet. (i think that's what the plan says). If you could borrow a few feet from the pantry the island will fit better and could be wider.

I would put the refrigerator and wall ovens both on the wall where the oven is drawn now. Then if you put a prep sink on the island you will have a prep and cooking zone and a separate cleanup zone. If your island could be a few feet wider it would be helpful for it's use as a prep area across from the range.

Windows flanking the range is really neat look. If you run your uppers on the other two walls into the corner instead of continuing around the corner you could have wider windows on either side of the range.

Here's a quick alternate plan, similar to nancy's idea, but I moved the fridge out a little, and shortened the island. You don't show seating, and I agree that there doesn't seem to be room.

Another one, with your idea of annexing part of the pantry.

This one puts the fridge in original location, seating on the back, and prep on the same side as clean-up.
