You cabinets are gorgeous so I wouldn't paint them. Once you get a lighter countertop and floor in, the kitchen won't seem so dark.

Quartz countertops would look great in your space. If you're going lighter with the cabinets, we always recommend an off white or distressed cream color. Bright white shows so much wear and tear even if it's just you using them. Also, it's usually free to get a professional quote. We have many clients who paint and don't get the results they want in the long run. A professional has access to specialty paints and can spray the cabinets for an even finish. It may be worth it! Also, can lights and/or a pendant light over the sink would add some brightness. Good luck.

Agree with first four comments, your cabinets look great and very compatible with the rest of your furnishings. Since your space is so open, white cabinets may create stark contrast with the dark wood tables. Once you change the countertop and backsplash to a lighter tone your kitchen will open up.

I also second mrsstem's advice regarding floor - the tile matches your cabinets beautifully, so don't rip it out unless you decide to change the carpeting as well for a uniform floor.
