wild black raspberries?

Hello!

There are what appear to be wild black raspberries growing along the bike path near my house. i think i would like some of those to be growing in my backyard. Can i make this happen given that at some point during the summer the city will come by and mow the bushes to the ground? Can i take cuttings or grow them from seed?

You better check with the township, village, city etc. Some native plants are not allowed to be messed with.

They will grow from seed or from cuttings. They are almost weed like and spread vigorously so nobody will care if you move some I am sure. Mash some berries into bare patches of ground and/or cut some ends off the plants that are trying to burrow into the ground and plant and water vigorously. Or dig up some of the smaller ones or ends already rooted.
