I can see something like this selling at my market. My best guess would be $10-$15, considering that the buyer should get a nice chunk of baby ginger out of that pot. JB

I sold them for $5 each. This is at a rural town market that has about 10 vendors. I brought 10 and sold 6. I priced them about the same as another vendor was selling plants for in similar size containers. I'll do the same this coming Saturday. And hope that 6 hasn't saturated the market.

You need to grow something else. I sold herbs at the flea market and they sold like crazy. No one else had them for sale. I sold basil, oregano and thyme.

Randy, I thought you were going to sell that potted ginger at the end of the season, when it had developed a fat rhizome. Selling it now, $5 doesn't sound bad, and a good way to extend your ginger season. I wish I had potted some like that.

My customers started asking me about ginger at my first market day, people who bought from me last year and still have a bit of ginger left in their freezers. The problem I have with it is that my market ends at the end of October, which is when I harvest the ginger, so I only have a few markets to sell at. I've started contacting organic markets to see if there's any interest in it, in the event that I have extra this year. JB

This is ginger that I had no room for and at this point I want it gone so I don't have to care for it. Its just 20 something containers.

You can try harvesting some earlier, like in September and start selling it then. Also local csa's might want to buy some from you to offer to their subscribers.

I have smaller ginger plants which I thought I might ask $2.75 per qt. pot. I started plants from grocery ginger which I cut into seed pieces so investment isn't that great. The price is what I ask for all potted ornamental peppers and I usually sell 10-15 at every market now that the peppers show color. My ginger is more of a novelty as I doubt that they will produce much tuber growth this year.
