Well, the pictures didn't happen (long story) and now it's too smoky to go outside and take any. So for now....plan for future kitchen garden expansion :)

The perimeter is mostly fruit (can you guess by color) plus asparagus and some herbs. The middle beds will probably be veggies and flowers, plus a few herbs. We have a pergola in the far left beds and arches for the rest. Oh and each square is two feet.

Does anyone else have plans for a new garden or expanding a current one?

I do, but I don't really know how to post these kind of plans.

We have an approximately 30x50 garden with several raised beds. A few years ago we purchased 3 raised up beds (3x8x12deep, raised up to waist height) from a neighbor who was moving away.

A couple years ago my daughter adopted a very active lab x (who rips up my arms every time I go out there!)

The raised up beds are in the dog yard and not being used right now (due to doggy use)

I'm happy to say she and her doggy are moving out in a couple of weeks! I love the doggy, but he has to much energy for me!

Now we can finally use the picket fence I bought to make my garden longer and possibly add a couple of fruit trees AND a pergola!

Houzz garden web would benefit so many if they had a section for new posts. I think more people would be really interested in sharing pictures if they knew this thread existed across other garden forums that may have potager gardens. Like something on the side listed as new posts.

Lavender - Here are some.

I wish I had something to contribute here. Maybe next year. I'm currently planting my black krim and Mortgage Lifter tomatoes behind my roses and in a part of my bed that's currently empty. At least I know the soil is good and there's plenty of sun, but next year I hope to have more roses there. :)

Charlie- Nice pictures! Very pretty garden...and I like the edgers.

It's been raining for four days, but I did manage to get a picture of the lupines...rain and all. I think I'll add some to the kitchen garden. They're so pretty : )

We are putting up a fence around the kitchen garden/potager! I'll get pictures up as soon as we finish : )

Also been VERY busy writing books the past few months. So much fun!

Lavendar - What type of books? My daughter and I published a fictional novel set in prehistoric times. "The Last Neanderthal Clan" is a story of the struggle for survival of the last Neanderthals.

Very interesting book. And quite a long "read inside" section with Amazon.com!

My stories are shorter romances and a serialized fairytale. The fairytale has the two main characters defined as both strong, capable, honorable people....but doesn't tell you their gender. So, you have to decide that for yourself. It's fun to write and allows the reader to see themselves as either 'hero' as they read it : )

Charlie, I did the 23 and me and found that I have more Neanderthal DNA than most people, so I quickly bought your book to learn about my ancestors. I read the first few pages and had to quit because it was too interesting, will read it as soon as the drought is over and I can stop spending hours watering my gardens. Thanks for writing the most needed book.
