Mold on the soil? Is it really humid where you are? That is something I've never seen, but it's really dry and windy mostly where I am. In my climate I mix perlite, potting soil, turface, and compost together, kinda equal parts. The perlite and turface keep everything draining. I also put an inch crushed rock or plain perlite on top of the soil to prevent fungus gnats. In the heat, my soil stays damp for a few days, and my figs are fine.

I think your fig will be fine if you repot it. The little fig should be fine too.

it's actually very dry here. I think i have it figured out to adding bone meal to the pot and poor air circulation
