what does cut correctly mean?

Hi, the tiles will be cut smaller to allow for shower floor grading and safety.

Tiles have to be cut much smaller to get proper slope. Best to use a 2x2 or 4x4 ( no bigger) that is purchased on a mesh sheet to get the right drainage. I would just get the your same floor tile in the smaller floor size. Why do you want it to be flush? If you have an open shower a rain type shower head is best because water flow comes straight down and doesn't splash outside enclosure.

You can get a small tile that is just 2 x 2 in sheets for the floor, that match or complement the large wall tile. We have just done that in our bathroom. While we opted for the same tile for the walls and the main floor, there was an appropriate mate for the shower floor/ pan. It may seem like a big deal to you to have them not match, but once it is all done and you are under your gorgeous new shower, it will not be bad . You will be in love with it all.
Just so you know, we considered the longer 12 x 24 tiles for our bathroom floor, there was concern about the edges cupping and we decided it would be easier to not risk that result.

Thank you all for your thoughts. And, as these remodels go, we decided to go with a standard curbed shower rather than the curbless. Ahhhh, the fun of it all.

we have a curbed one, with 2x2s that match the walls and floor outside the shower. have fun with yours! we found that a 36" glass panel was more than enough for a shower depth of 4'. the further the shower head is from the edge, the less side coverage you need.

For the shower floor, you don't really need to have small tiles. You can always use a linear drain and have larger tiles on the floor...easier cleaning as well
