Rooting Hydrangea with flower buds?

I previously rooted a hydrangea, but I cut all the leaves I believe except for the top and cut the top leaves in half, I think. Last time there were no blooms or flower buds, just leaves. This time I have a cutting that has flower buds and is blooming already. Do I cut off the flower buds/blooms? Or do I leave it on? If I cut it off is there something I should do with the blooms/flower buds or just throw them in the trash?
