Has anyone grown Eupatorium Chocolate in our far north climate?

I used to grow this lovely eupatorium in my zone 5 yard. It grew to be about 3 feet tall. However, I rarely saw this in the garden centres in Calgary until recently, so I just could not resist it and bought one!

On Shelmerdine's website, it listed the size of this to be 12 inches by 12 inches only. Does it mean that it will only be a little baby perennial here in our climate? Actually, that would be great! LOL! I would love to use it as a small contrast foliage plant against my golden bleeding heart.

Do you have any experience with this please?

Oh no! Seriously!? That was sad... see now you have more room for roses. There is always a silver lining, right!? LOL

I tried growing it once and it didn't come back. The regular tall one with the green leaves and dark stem is completely hardy, almost to the point of invasive in my yard.

Ostrich, probably the only way to get this one to survive for you is to plant it about 12 inches from the foundation of your home and at about 4 inches deep. I'm able to get buddleia and herbaceous hibiscus to survive by doing such.
