I got my Music as an emergency spring shipment from Red Gate Garlic, which by chance had surplus cloves left over from the previous fall planting. That was three years ago last May. I even got a nice crop from a late May planting that year. I have been growing the offspring quite successfully since. Their regular stock should be as true to type as that. Most online garlic suppliers are pretty dependable.

I am surprised you got an argument about your purchase. Although I do not deal with Peaceful Valley much, that sounds like it obviously wasn't quality Music stock at the very least. I would take some pictures and get back ahold of Peaceful Valley to show them. That sounds to me like very poor customer service. I remember my mother's axiom on service: "Treat me right and I will tell everybody; treat me wrong and I will tell everybody twice."

Music should start showing up in local farmers' markets pretty soon, too, especially farther south. If not yet available in your area, now is the time to start inquiries in order to get first choice and thus the biggest bulbs. Your local farmers' markets would be the most economical source, if they have this variety. Essentially Music seed stock is available just about everywhere. (I didn't say it would be cheap however - with so few cloves, it takes a lot of bulbs to plant any significant size plot!)
