I don't think you need shutters, but paint the door a more inviting deep red and spend the money to get the overgrown high maintenance shrubs under control. I'd go overboard for tulips.

I'm always in favour of tulips. :-)

Add a long, wide and inviting path curving up to your front door. Landscape with shrubs and leave room for more tulips!

I really love the color combo you have right now!! I agree that a brighter red for the door would be nice. Your home is beautiful!

Since the roof has some brown in it, I would suggest a harmonizing beige for the shutters and the front door. Then, I would suggest you paint all the trim white so that it will contrast from the beige and from the dark brown tones. If your door has recessed panels, I would suggest a two-tone scheme of white and beige for the door.
