Challenging room layout. Suggestions appreciated!
I'm having a difficult time with furniture placement in a sitting area where you first enter the front door of my home. The space has a small bay window, making it unevenly shaped, and it is attached to a small but formal dining area. The two columns are what separate the space. The room (minus the bay window area) is about 10 1/2 feet wide and 10 feet deep, so it's a pretty small area. The house has a living area and the basement is being finished as well, so I'm not really in need of a loveseat type arrangement. I was wondering if I could do some sort of modern buffet cabinet against the back wall, and maybe some chairs facing each other with a coffee table? I could use the storage, especially since it's attached to the dining room. I think the bay window is really what's throwing me off, because I don't know how to style it, and you can see in the window from the front of the house. Also, I'd like this area to look tasteful, since it's the first space you see when you walk in the door. Anyone who might have some suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
