Wowowowowow! I've never seen leaves like those before - they are just enchanting. Good luck, and I'm glad you were able to save him - he's a real beauty. Does the plant have a name/breed?

blessed if I know, sorry. I've had it for years, I'm glad it still alive too!

we got off to a bad start and have been struggling ever since. when I brought
this little guy home I made the mistake of leaving it in the decorative foil pot!
After having it for a month I noticed it was unhappy, so I picked it up and sure enough it was sitting in water! He recovered, after a long battle. The short end of the story is this plant is very sensitive to how much water it gets. I now have it in a location where I can stick my finger in the pot with out performing gymnastics and the spot allows me to keep a close eye on it at ALL time too! No more shenanigans! I also can not find any variegated AF in any of the BBS.
This guy originally came from Lowes, believe it or not.

Very nice plant. If it came from Lowes, it is most likely an Optimara variety. Optimara generally grows only a couple of variegated violets. If you are looking for other variegated leaf varieties, you will probably have to obtain them via mail or web order from one of the several excellent AV vendors.

Hey Fred! Glad to hear things are much better for that beautiful plant! I can't wait to see what color the flowers are!

You know, if there is pink in those leaves also,,,,,,I bet your violet is in the Victorian Charm series.

Just a hunch,,,,,,, I bought a violet last year at our BBS (Meijer) and it identified as Optimara Tradition-Victorian Charm Series.

Unfortunately when our furnace went out for 5 days (it was very cold in here. Many babies died and several larger plants took real bad hits and eventually died.) Tradition was one that gave up the ghost about 3 weeks ago. Broke my heart. She was one of my favorites and I tried so hard to save her! It is not like my store will get another one in. Oh well,,,,,,BUT !!!! I think yours may be one of that series! Just a hunch!!!! Rosie

what a nightmare to lose the heat and have your plants die! What an omni present winter threat here too! YIKES!!!

It was a nightmare. BUT I have been gifted with some new leaves, traded for some, and paid postage for others.

Because the group has been so generous to me, I have also been able, in a couple small ways, to "pay it forward"!!! Rosie
