On this particular project we had to drive pylons into the earth
to support the walls as the land the garden was built upon had always been wet
and soggy. With those in place were then
able to weld the corten walls to the pylons to make one solid structure. Let

thanks for the response Daryl. my question is how does the corten support that big boulder in back. did you carve rabbets into the rock? or is that really heavy gauge steel? thanks

The boulders were set prior to the steel on a base of 21aa limestone and buried a significant amount to support the stone. For features on the site like the ninedragon marble table a concrete footing was poured and then the boulders are pinned into the footing. Then the steel was installed and cut to mock the shape of the boulder. Which to answer your question...would mean that the stones and the steel are independent of each other and not tied together. But yes the steel is very heavy gauge as well.
