Our new front yard

Just moved here, so landscaping the front yard is a dilemma. If you can see, there is a drain pipe under the driveway, water runs out of pipe and into the yard. There is another drain pipe at the other end of yard. How can I landscape this area? Your help is much appreciated.

I agree with the above statements in adding what's called riverstone or riverrock to the swales. You can naturalize the area by using a combination of riverstone and rockery stone (boulders). Make sure to put filterfabric underneath the riverstone so you don't have weeds growing up through it. You could naturalize the riverrstone swales with plants that enjoy having wet feet. How about some type of small fencing on either side angled back to hide the drains and then landscape around the fence for kinda like an accent to the entrance all while hiding the pipes?? I would also add some rock around the exit points to help with erosion ,but nice landscape type rock

We had a similar issue with our drive. We ended up creating a swale - just by redirecting the flow of water away from the yard. We then added decorative rock to maintain the swale, but a grass swale will work, too.

It may be that the culverts are on public property. The road dept might come out and place a ditch between the culverts to keep the water off your front lawn. The ditch would look sorta ugly the first year but by year 2 would be green when not h2o filled. AND
As others have suggested hard scape open culverts with big river rocks so folks won't drive in the ditch when leaving your estate.

You could plant some sort of bunch grass to blend it away. I like Mexican feather grass.

Been thinking of putting a wide area of rock bordering the mulch. Also, think putting stone in pipe line, but do a curvy design beyond the ditch. Thought I would plant some grasses amongst the rock. What do you use for ground cover under the rock? Thanks
