Flaking old skin in the summer it is normal. This means that the bulb grows well. Because it is in good condition then it increased reserves and then get fat bulb scales. Old skin crack and fall off.

Does the outer pot have drainage holes? If not, it would be best if it did, otherwise it could rot due to lack of drainage. The leaves are good and tight at the neck, so it likely did fine in the rain.

There's no reason to have to bring it in at night...unless you just like to look at it!

There is an FAQ for this forum. Do a search and it will tell you more than you ever thought there was to know....water, fertilizer, sunlight and enjoy the flowers!

Thanks guys! Yes I've been through every FAQ I could find. But of course I still have concerns lol. I only bring it in at night as it still gets chilly, down to about 14c. It doesn't look it from the photo but the inner pot does have holes. I have a root coming out of one of the holes which I'll have to address I suppose.

What about the outer pot....that is the one I was asking about. If it has no holes, it's no different than the inner pot not having holes since you are using it as a decorative sleeve. The bulbs are very hardy and just need to be protected from freezing. 14C is toasty (~58F, right?)
