We built our dream home nearly a year ago, and since we had a tight budget and I wanted to use as much salvage as possible (the entire kitchen including the eating area cost under $500 (except for the fridge, stove, and dishwasher). Now, after staring and using the area everyday, I know I want open shelving on both sides of the range hood ($100 at Habitat Restore just because it's white, woohoo!) that is similar to the open shelving I have to the right of the sink. I can't figure out how to do it because I think the brackets won't look right on the sides of the rangehood. I would like to keep the old medicine cabinet turned spice rack. Included other photos to show, my ummmm eclectic style, lol! Any ideas? I've looked through a bazillion images and haven't found anything I like since I want the shelves to invade the space over the wide horizontal part of the rangehood.
