Are the insides of the arches painted the wall's gray color, or are they white like the trim? I have arches like this and I find it so hard knowing where to stop or transition the paint colors. But I never thought to try white.

The underside of the arches is actually the same grey color as the Family Room. It looks slightly different because of the lighting. You could try white, but depending on your colors it could be too stark of a break. We used grey because it coordinated well with all of the adjoining colors.

Are the ceilings blue or is that the lighting? If they are blue, what is the color?

@ Clare - The ceilings area actually white. The lighting/shadows are causing the grey cast. If you look in the dining room off to the right you can see that it brightens up. Thanks!

The wall color in the Family Room is Benjamin Moore #972 "Alaskan Skies". The color in the Dining Room is Benjamin Moore #2147-40 "Dill Pickle". The color going up the stairs is Benjamin Moore #2147-50 "Pale Sea Mist".
