covering foundation flashing?

We're finally ready to side the front of the house but I can't figure out what to do about the flashing on the foundation. The contractor said to just leave it exposed but it looked better brand new than it does now. what is typically done in this situation since we can't exactly side right over it?

leave it, paint it, cover it...?

Any thoughts?

The flashing is part of the overall water management system when building a home. Leave it as it is and don't worry about the way it looks. It has a purpose and is not very noticeable once everything is done.

I just had this thought last week when we started siding our house, too. All of our trim is white, so the flashing looks "right" the way it is. The flashing is a necessity, so you're going to have to just overlook it. :) Congrats on the new house!

Thanks for the feedback. I guess we're going to leave it be and hope for the best. maybe I'll try to wash it so it's shiny again.

Making it shiny will just make it stand out. I think you would want it to disappear as much as possible.
