Help please! Need advice on porcelain plank tiles and engineered wood

I am in the first steps of remodeling my kitchen and flooring. First, I absolutely love the look of wood flooring for the kitchen, although I've heard countless times that wood or even engineered wood flooring in the kitchen is not practical :( I understand the porcelain plank tiles may be an option for me, but the problem I am facing is that our kitchen is completely open to the family room. I do not want tile in the family room (I currently have carpet, but pulling all of our carpet up to lay down engineered wood flooring). Has anyone had the same problem? Has anyone been able to find an engineered wood (aesthetics wise) that is a pretty good match with a given porcelain plank tile? While I do prefer the look of rustic-type engineered wood flooring, I realize trying to find porcelain plank tile that would match or be somewhat similar would be difficult, so am thinking I might have to go with a darker, espresso-type color. I've attached the look or inspiration for color and aesthetics for our new kitchen. Ugggghh...this predicament has been driving me crazy! If finding a porcelain plank tile and an engineered wood that matches is not an option, does anyone have any other suggestions? Maybe a dark brown tile (something that does NOT look like wood planks) or would a grey tile work with the color palette in this pic? I hate the thought of square or rectangular tile flooring as I will likely choose to have a subway tile backsplash (similar to the color of the backsplash in this pic - not carrera marble) so would think it may look too busy. I realize now, I am just rambling, so I'll just stop here ;) Thanks in advance for any feedback :)
