About 2 years ago we had 1-2 tomatoes that had stunted growth and flat, thick, leathery leaves. They never produced fruit or even flowered.

The past year we pulled a few tomato plants that were stunted, with slight curl on the leaf and a thick stem, but the had a few flowers that developed small, hard, inedible fruit.

This year we pulled our first tomato exhibiting the same types of effects. We do rotate our tomatoes so that they are planted in the same location every 4th year. We planted under WOW middle of May, removing them the beginning of June.

I hesitate to say that the first year of the garden we had manure with herbicide in it. We pulled the top 8 inches or so off and replaced it with amended topsoil from our local garden (this would have been 5-6 years ago). Since then we have been very careful about herbicide carryover. I hesitate to say this as to not skew the opinion towards herbicide carryover.

The other plants that we grow become huge! Even the tomatoes right next to the ones that we pull due to stunted growth. That is what makes this so perplexing. Also- the tomatoes this year were grown from seed and planted into 4 different gardens. This is the only garden that has exhibited this pattern. This is a dwarf pink passion BTW, and all the rest if them are doing really well.
