Just consider the source

It's just FYI/FWIW to you.

I know some people don't like CR; I do, especially when contemplating large purchases!

I am largely impressed by CR. I'll add in other factors as well - some of the things they may consider important aren't so for me, but overall I do respect the research they do.

I also respect CR research and take it into account when making a purchase. But it's not my only source and like Artemis_ma, I factor in what features are important to me.

Overall my experiences using CR have been positive. My greatest complaint is when they have not reviewed something I want to purchase.

Too often I've gone to buy an appliance (large and small) that they've highly rated only to find they were discontinued well before the review was even published.
