Now - can you see that there is a ring of rock around the tree - like a planter. Assorted rock. Easier to mow the lawn if we get rid of it . . . but it is pretty to have something growing under it . . . and I do like the 'no borders' English cottage garden look I've seen in Gardenista . . .
