Weed or plant

This is a picture where they are starting to mature... I haven't been able to even find on the internet. The top part is the seeds so I pulled around 300 plants last night. I still would like the name. They have purple on the stock just above the root. Anyone?

Maybe Physostegia, Obedient Plant. It will flower soon and you'll know for sure.

Yes Floral, you are 100% right. I can't believe they come back so thick, when I have pulled them every year. They're gorgeous! Too bad for me.... Thanks again

They have an extensive root system. They spread by root and seed. It will take more than pulling them to be rid of them. They're very pretty, but quickly outgrow their welcome.

I know, they were choking out a lot of plants. Next year I'll thin them back right away...Thank you Deb. I plan on keeping some because they are such nice flowering plants.
