We are in the preliminary stages of thinking about remodeling our kitchen. I made a model of our existing kitchen using Sketchup. It is not very fancy, but is true to scale.

I am looking for ideas on how you would approach redesigning this kitchen.

- It is 10.5 ft x 15 ft kitchen with three sliding doors (one opens into the laundry, one into the family/dining room, and one into the foyer).

- Three of the doors are slider doors and the fourth door opens into a teeny weeny cupboard type pantry.

- A part of the kitchen was presumably used as a breakfast nook. We want to eliminate that space and create more counter space.

- Since we have a metal roof, it is hard to move the chimney vent. Therefore, the location of the cooktop/range cannot be changed. Everything else can be moved around.

- The larger window is at a height of 33" :(

- The wall oven is small and not really working for us. We either want to go to a larger functional wall oven or a range (right now we have a cooktop).

- We have 5 - 6 cooking appliances that we use very frequently (kitchenmaid mixer, champion juicer, food processor, zojirushi bread machine, zojirushi rice cooker etc), and it would be good to have some kind of a permanent/semi-permanent appliance counter for them.

- We cook almost every day. We have a large collection of copper and cast iron cookware. We love cooking gadgets and collect them from all around the world. We also store reasonable amounts of food and grain. So storage space is super important for us.

Right now we are not constrained by budget since we are only exploring possibilities. So please let your creative juices flow and give us ideas :)
