A friend discovered some odd looking figs on the tree that are kinda creepy. https://instagram.com/p/49VhjcNSaI/

Normally figs split from the bottom, but this one seems to be bursting from the side. Also, the insides are coming out like the fig is "throwing up". It looks really unusual and she says there are a whole bunch like this on the tree.

We are in Vancouver, Canada and the weather has been extremely dry, which also makes the splitting a bit unusual. Figs around here also typically don't ripen until about mid August so this is really early.

Any thoughts out there?
