My son has a cub also and on mower deck, the top bearing is a little loose in the hub.(he forgot to check bearings) Found an exact number replacement complete spindle from discount on line parts. I noticed,on the new spindle, the top bearing sticks up about 1/8 of an inch from the top the hub(thats as far as it can go as that is the way it is machined),while the bearing on his old one is about 1/32 in the hub(3/32) deeper in hub.(same as my hubs). Also the new bearing fits the hole with no play, but can be removed with just finger pressure. The old bearings on his and mine have to be removed with a punch and a light hammer. also no grease fitting. I think he should send it back for one more like his old one. What are your thoughts on this. Thanks John
