Dottie and Rosie, I'd love to go, too and meet you both, or carpool with Dottie - but I'm having knee surgery on September 3rd so I'm not sure I'd be up to it and can't make plans. I've been to one of MSAVS' spring shows/sales a few years back and I came home with a whole box of new plants (of course!) I dragged my sister (who lives nearby) along and she bought a box full as well - and she's not even an AV/strep nut like me, LOL. Go if you can, it's really worthwhile!

Oh Anne how nice it would be for all 3 of us to go! Maybe you just have to wait to decide at the last minute??? Maybe we can get a wheelchair? We could stack the boxes of violets on your lap! Oh that would be great! And they have STREPS ?????? I better start saving money now. Hmmmmm, build a new addition onto the house, oh yeah and lay in a big suppy of Kcups, perlite etc!!! WOW I am so excited!

I think we'd have a blast. Anne don't let your knee stop you. We'll look after you and I can do the driving.

Wish I was closer.I only went to one AV show in NJ.It was really very small.I am in WV and do not know any AV lovers near me.

Just to clarify, the Ann Arbor group's show/sale IS quite small - the year I attended it was all inside one meeting room - but there were lots and lots of plants and leaves and supplies...and a very friendly group. It's nothing like the photos one sees of Nationals or other big competition shows, but for us here in Michigan it's one of the best opportunities we might have to meet with experienced AV growers and buy new named AV's without ordering by mail. (Wish I had made it to Nationals the year they were at the RenCen in Detroit, now THAT would have been something!)

Oh Anne, I wouldn't care if they held it in the parking lot of Kmarts! It is just the idea we may be able to get together, meet each other and maybe buy a few plants and leaves!!!!! AND because I have never done this before and I really want to do this! With new people who share a common "like"!!!!!!! Rosie

P.S. I have 5 new AVs coming my way via eBay. The one I really wanted I didn't win. (Someone sniped me with 3 seconds to go!) I really wanted Toronto Belle but did win Double Jeopardy, Redoubled, Jolly Gold, Shirl's Ruffled Petticoat and Belta (semi mini trailer). Now to make room for them!

Dottie! Great idea! I was also thinking we could have our own little personal trade. We should let each other know what we have available, then trade among ourselves and bring each other what we asked for! Get it???? WOW!!! What a day that will be. OH and remember,,,we need to make a list of what we already have so we don't buy duplicates!!!!! There IS something to be said for named varieties!!! lol
