Megan has a good point also I sometimes like runners for the foyer maybe try that... just a long runner from the door to the entry way vs a rectangular rug.

Can you post shots from the other side and outside looking in with door open? Foyer seems crowded with furniture.

If you move everything out....try current rug turned 90 degrees directly in front of the door.

I like that mustard yellow console that is in the dining room. If bench were moved out, would it fit there?

No rug needed - just a round foyer table to take center stage, eliminating all the other small pieces in the foyer.

Thanks but I don't think I have enough room for a table because we have a bench up against the staircase for the kids with their shoes stored underneath. Very pretty though!

I have looked for a round rug but have not found the right color combo yet.

Kids don't come in through the back or garage door? I'm not a fan of front entry mudrooms.

They do come in through the garage door but we can't have the mudroom down there because it is a raised beach house and not enclosed so everything mildews so quickly.

The foyer rug is too small but they do make a larger size. I did think about getting the bigger one for the dining room and putting the dining room rug somewhere else.

Get a dark rug, like navy; so it won't look bad being dirty will kids. Keep it simple.
