I had never heard of it so I googled

I would never use "glass" cutting boards with my knives (which are in themselves an investment) , so while the sliding boards may be great for hiding the sink and extending countertop space, they have no other functional utility for me.

I think If the glass "cutting boards" are the same color as the counter, they'd be great in any size kitchen at hiding dirty pots and pans while eating in the kitchen. In a small kitchen that lacks counter space, adding one of those silicon cutting mats would turn the sink quickly into a real prep area.

I've been touting integrated cutting boards ever since I realized that one of my large wooden cutting boards fits perfectly on the reveal of my apron sink. Everyone is probably tired of hearing it, but I figure the newbies might not know that's an option.

I really like the ability to brush debris into my undermounted sink, and the runnels for draining, neither of which would be possible with the Franke sink. (Unless the front and back edges of the cut-out could be routed enough to make the sides level with the countertop. Then steel supports would probably be necessary.) If used as a drop-in, I can see where it might be popular with fabricators--the sink cut-out wouldn't need to be as precise as for an undermount.

Thanks, practical, for bringing us up to speed on the new sinks.

The RV industry had these things figured out decades ago. :P

But were they charging $561.00? ;)

mama - ok, ok, it's not a drop- in sink like "The Galley" sink, but that one sells for multiple thousand of $$$
