Thank you for answering! And I went to the Stickwood website; did I understand correctly that you (myself) would have to request the sealant be applied? (Do you know...? lol)

If the stikwood comes with a sealer already on it - then any stain you put on would not stick. However find out from the company if it comes sealed - and if it does, is it possible to sand it to apply a different color.

My suggestion is that you can not go wrong if you apply a glaze, tinting it the color you want. If you need more help with this let me know.

We do not pre-seal our wood before we send it to you! This is an additional cost, that is $1 extra per/square foot. As they said above, we recommend testing a sample piece with your desired stain or color before doing it to the whole order.

Sorry this took me so long in getting back to you! I was out of town. Ok, so it does not have a sealer. What you can do is sand it lightly as you do not want to remove the texture from the wood. Pick a stain and test a little area to make sure it is the color you want. If you do not want a stain color you can use a glaze and color it any color you want. Always do a test to make sure of the color, If it is not the color you want you can re-sand the area and re-do the color.
