My Amaryllis

The highest temperature from Last week of April to first week of
July is above 35 C going up to 46C

22 C is the ideal
temperature for the Hippeastrums, about 10 years ago my Guru, Hans told me it
is not possible to grow exhibition Amaryllis in such a hot climate. What are
exhibition Amaryllis I know not but I have managed to grow/breed what ever I
desired Doubles and Extra large flowered ones.

A 9 inches across flower is 3.3 times bigger than a 5 inch
flower and the impact in the garden is even more.

If un-disturbed it can
adapt to the local climate, I only have to protect them from direct sun from
last week of April to end of June to prevent roasting of leaves.

I loose many but
only on experimentation trying to follow advise of growers from other regions.
