Don't believe age was mentioned. I don't see it on the eBay page. It's possibly on one of the papers that came in the shipment.

I suspect they are approaching 9 months. I got about a half dozen from antique trader too. He seems to take his DR seriously. IT appears he starts 10-12 of a variety at a time and runs out quick. Bought some back in Dec and did not mail them until April, concerned about temps ...

These are from the same seller. The one on the right is called 'Fadia' by the seller. I am very happy with this particular plant, as it has five branches which are all doing quite well. My plan is to bonsai this one. I already have the next pot picked out.

Dain, this plant turned out well. If my memory serves me right, you pruned it down few weeks ago. Great that it ramified 5 branches at the same time! Happy growing!

Kadie, I actually did not prune any of them. Of the 4 seedlings i bought, two had been pruned, and two had not been pruned. The other seedling that was pruned has not fared quite as well. It has really struggled to put leaves out of two new branches. I think it's starting to snap out of the shock of shipping, just quite a bit slower than the others.

He does sell some very healthy looking plants. Doesn't he. Hopefully you will end up with similarities to the plants pod/pollen parents. I hope he is forth coming about seed not coming true to parentage. That would be misleading.

I've always meant to purchase from him. However, these are not grafted plants that I can see and I had at one time messaged him and he did not answer me. Therefore, if they are seedlings, it will be just like when we all plant our seeds, you may get a color similar to the mother plant he calls 'Fadia' but then again you might get a regular pink flower from them also. A friend bought 10 plants from him and all turned out to have pink flowers. Just an FYI...

when buying obesums, i would suggest just get the grafted plants, obesum seeds or seedlings is kinda tricky, you can get 10% to 15% chance that you will get the same flower as its shown,you have to check there genes from generation to generation, whats the mother father etc, some can go out the normal color pink, and some can get whats in the picture or you can get a different one as well,

Yup I'm aware of the issues. I figured I'd give it a shot. If it end up being a failure I won't go that route again.

booshfield, at least you went into it with your eyes wide open. Maybe you will end up with some great blooms from them. Either way it is not a failure.

I'm really hoping that my plants from this seller mature enough over this summer so that they bloom next spring.

1st one bloomed. Wasn't expecting any this year.

Yup up it's the standard pink. It's to be expected. I'm hoping for a least a couple to stay true

well, you can always graft onto them … mine had nice shapes, and i don't mind a kick start that way.
